I started out as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher and Early Interventionist in Oregon after getting my Masters’ degree in 1999. I have worked in a variety of roles over the years with infants and young children including completing evaluations, home visits, direct teaching, and providing consultation to community preschools. I have most of my experiences around young children who have a disability in teaching specialized instruction of children birth-5 of all types and abilities. I have taught in a full inclusion setting for over a decade. I have many years experience teaching all sorts of toddler groups, blended preschools and self-contained special education preschool groups in the metro area.
I currently consult to families and work directly with them around the needs of children who learn differently. I can complete individualized instruction for a variety of one on one situations in the home, community or with small group intervention to support routines and boost developmental progress.
I obtained my Oregon Certified Master Trainer endorsement in 2019 and am familiar with providing instruction and doing work in a variety of early childhood settings. I have been certified to teach the Circle of Security parenting program and know strategies that are geared to build stronger connections and boost progress with the infant to preschool population. I am familiar with strategies around CPS, Pyramid Model, PBIS and other evidence based parenting programs and can complete Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Support plans for multiple settings if needed.
Previous to my graduate education, I worked with adults of all ages who had issues with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities in a variety of medical, mental health and non-profit settings.
